This 8836 square meter office building was developed and completed by Vulindlela in 2019 and is the home of our business. As the majority owner of the building, our fully tenanted building, includes tenants such as AECOM and Cox Yeats and is the home of Vulindlela Holdings.

Being one of our first investments that we made in 1997, this property holds sentimental value for us. This dynamic development known as The Stevedore, encompasses a diverse mix of residential and commercial properties, spanning a total of 6,000 square meters of developed space, complemented by an additional 2700 square meters of undeveloped bulk.

Growthpoint Healthcare Property Fund

With a passion to see the healthcare sector grow in South Africa and firsthand experience of the sector through our involvement in the first hospital PPP in the country, Vulindlela jumped at the opportunity to invest in the Growthpoint Healthcare Property Fund. The healthcare REIT has 8 assets which include 6 hospitals (namely, Netcare N1 City Hospital and Medical Chambers, Mediclinic Louis Leipoldt Hospital, Busamed Gateway Private Hospital ,Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital, Busamed Paardevlei Private Hospital And Cintocare Hospital)1 medical chambers and 1 pharmaceutical warehousing and distribution facility.  

Growthpoint Student Accommodation REIT

10% effective shareholding

Growthpoint Properties launched South Africa’s first unlisted purpose-built student accommodation real estate investment trust (REIT), the Growthpoint Student REIT in 2022. The REIT’s  seed portfolio comprises seven high-quality purpose-built student accommodation properties acquired from a group of vendor with a total of 8 051 student beds – as one of the vendors, we seeded two of our properties into the portfolio which facilitated us becoming one of the first investors into the REIT. Vulindlela was attracted to the opportunity because of its positive social and economic impact in addressing the student housing crisis that exists in our country.

Durban Point Waterfront Development Company

10% effective Shareholding

The Durban Point Waterfront Development is undertaken by the Durban Point Development Company – which is a partnership between ourselves, our partners UEM Sunrise, and the eThekwini Municipality. The Point Waterfront Development project forms part of the city’s initiative to redevelop and regenerate the Durban CBD. The R35-billion investment located on the South Point of the Durban Beachfront is set to include a number of mixed-use development projects, including upmarket residential and commercial developments, and leisure facilities.
