Putello Primary School Art Centre

Putello is a lower primary school in Umbumbulu, about 5km from KwaJabula, in KwaZulu-Natal.

Vulindlela Holdings has a passion for uplifting the youth with skills development, taught through the medium of Arts and Culture.

We believe that art has the power to enrich every aspect of a child’s development and, consequently, we have assisted this lovely school by building a 140 square metre multi-purpose art centre within the school premises, for use as an art learning centre, a school hall and a community hall.

how art helps kids:

It Enhances Cognitive Development

Through creating and analysing intricate patterns, children can learn to improve their observation skills and improve their attention to detail. By first planning out their artwork and the implementing it, they can also grow their executive skills.

It Can Improve Language Skills

When kids are encouraged to talk about their art – which elements they used where and why – they naturally grow their public speaking skills and verbal reasoning skills.

It Can Enhance Their Mathematical Abilities

Though Arts and Maths may seem worlds apart, they don’t have to be. Teachers can use art to teach kids concepts like size, shape, perspective, geometry, and symmetry.
